Andrea Bocelli出生於1958年9月22日(in Lajatico in the province of Pisa, Italy)。他天生是個視障者，喜愛音樂加上他的歌聲有特殊的天份，1970年在Margherita d’Oro的聲樂比賽以「O Sole Mio」贏得大獎而開始走紅。

他曾經當過一年律師，可是因為熱愛音樂，決定放棄律師生涯，跟隨Betarinni學習聲樂。

Bocelli的歌聲也曾經得到Pavarotti的讚賞，兩人還同台表演過。他也與許多其他的歌手同台表演，曲目涵蓋古典到流行。

聲樂的世界是最貼近人心的音樂表現方式、鋼琴需要手來傳達情感，弦樂器需要有弓或手來彈奏…. 其他的器樂曲都是間接的方式，只有聲樂完全由人的身體來控制音樂。歌唱者的呼吸技巧、發聲法、共鳴位置、身體的姿勢、面部表情….種種都跟他所表現的音樂息息相關，這就是聲樂的魅力。簡單的說，聲樂就是直接用自己本身的樂器將情感融入音樂裡，喜歡唱歌的人一定了解這個道理。

還有另一個十分吸引人的就是無視覺狀態的音樂，當你閉上雙眼，所感受到的音樂跟張開眼睛時有很大的不同。Bocelli是個視障者，他的音樂世界一定跟我們不同，他根本看不到譜，連音高跟音低還有拍子都要用他自己的方式去理解。也許，他所「看到」的音樂世界比仰賴視覺的人還更有魅力哩。

比方說，當一個歌手唱歌到了渾然忘我的境界時，他會閉上眼唱出那一段最美的旋律，將自己的內心感受深刻地唱出來。當表演者把音符化成一種意像，暫時忘記譜上所有的音符，把它們作為一種情感的句子，款款道出心裡的話，這就是音樂最迷人之處。
